Once home to the great romantic poet Lord Byron, there is much to see and do at this stunning site. All year round visitors can enjoy its stunning grounds, which are an absolute delight in all seasons. Covering over 300 acres the gardens and parklands feature paths that meander past lakes, ponds and waterfalls. From April to September, visitors may also explore the historic house with its medieval cloisters, splendid Victorian room settings and even the private apartments of Byron - complete with his personal belongings and the table at which he wrote his poetry.
