North East Lincolnshire is a diverse area with lots to interest visitors, from its rugged coastline to the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. The traditional sea-side holiday resort of Cleethorpes lies next to a specially protected area of wildlife habitats, including salt marshes, mud flats, sand dunes and sand banks; over 150,000 migratory birds make the area their home during the winter months. The village of Humberston to the south of Cleethorpes has been established for over a millennium and elements of the church of St. Peter are over 700 years old.

Further inland is the picturesque village of Barnoldby le Beck, sat on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds where it offers attractive views out to the Humber Estuary. The church of St.
Helen dates from 12th – 13th century and is believed to have been built on the site of an earlier Saxon church. The village lies close to Waltham Windmill, a six-sailed working
windmill that is open to visitors.
