A guide to the beautiful birds found on and around two scenic railway lines in Cornwall. The Looe Valley Line winds its way through the steep-sided valley of the East Looe River with woodlands full of birds such as Jays, Greater Spotted Woodpeckers and Nuthatches. Look out for Common Buzzards hunting over the fields. The St Ives Bay Line is one of the most scenic in Europe. The journey is 4 miles and the 12 minute ride gives spectacular views you would never see from the road. With spectacular views across sandy beaches and the open sea to Godrevy Head, the St Ives Bay Line offers some of the best bird watching in the country.
