Our aim at Pontefract Racecourse has always been to improve all aspects of the facilities and services which we offer to all our customers and to the racing industry in general. We plough virtually all our profits back into improving the Stands, track and racing programme. Prize money is at least as good (if not better) than at any other comparable Racecourse and the extensive improvements we have undertaken in the past twenty years have been designed to ensure that all racegoers have a ‘grand day out’, whichever part of the Racecourse they are in.

We are often told that Pontefract is a ‘friendly’ racecourse with plenty of atmosphere. This is partly because the Stands and Enclosures are neat and compact with everything a racegoer needs within easy reach, and partly because we attract good crowds.

Admission prices have not been increased for 2012 and by booking in advance, racegoers are able to book entrance to the Premier and the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosures at the same discounted price as last year.
